Years of wandering the globe, gathering stories, images, and learning other cultures has shaped Basia as an artist. Her mentors stretch far and wide. She landed on Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts which has allowed her to reflect on her journeys and synthesize the rich material gathered along the way.
Her work has been exhibited in venues across the country including galleries, festivals, and business establishments. She is committed to creating meaningful art staying true to her outsider point of view.

Each work of art is born out of a passion for the subject, be they musician portraits, poster-like topical issues, or painted objects. Each piece in a collection is a tribute to the subject through the lens of its chosen medium, design and color—the language of art.
Basia’s paintings are an outgrowth of her experiences and the relationship between the internal and external worlds. Different stages appear during the creation process—a gestation period, materialization of the concept, attachment to the subject, gratitude, and a final letting go stage. They take a life of their own not to be possessed, but shared and hopefully enjoyed by viewers. Her wish is that the work enriches other lives as it does her own.
